In addition to our Certified Massage Therapy Program that focuses on Zen Shiatsu, Swedish Therapeutic Massage, Normalization of Soft Tissue and Integrative Therapeutic Massage, we also offer Associate Degree and Continuing Education that allow you to explore new areas, expand your techniques and gain specialized certifications. Our supervised internship and outreach programs let you explore various specializations while contributing to the community. Opportunities include internships with Boulder Community Hospital, CU's Dal Ward Athletic Center, Rose Medical Center, Mapleton Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Hospice of Boulder County, the Colorado Rapids and Colorado Crush sports teams, chiropractic clinics, sporting events like the Bolder Boulder 10k Race and several non-profits.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
Our 31,000 sq. ft. facility was specifically designed for comprehensive training in massage therapy. It includes a professional 12-room clinic, fully equipped spa training classroom, computer lab, reference library, student lounge and patio area, wellness bookstore, large group lecture rooms, and training classrooms with tables and futons.
Exceptional Clinic Experience
Our massage school students get the hands-on experience they need by providing over 8,000 massages and bodywork sessions to community members every year. When you graduate, you will have more than 75 hours of clinical experience in a professional and supervised setting. Learn more about our clinic.
Dedicated Community Outreach
As a non-profit massage therapy school, our philosophy is based on a commitment to excellence, curriculum balance, and community involvement. As one of our students, you can take part in hundreds of community outreach efforts each year. Last year, our students provided 11,337 hours of massage therapy to the surrounding community.
Massage-related Research Opportunities
Our massage school gained national recognition for its self-funded research on tension headaches (published in the American Journal of Public Health) and has received funding to continue various research initiatives. Our ongoing efforts continue to set industry standards while providing valuable data to massage school educators, students, medical professionals and the general public. BCMT is a founding member of the Healing Arts Alliance in Boulder, a collaboration between the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, Southwest Acupuncture College and The Rolf Institute, which are all located within a one-mile radius. This alliance was created to maintain the highest educational standards in the field of integrative healthcare and to provide a unique, holistic campus environment where students can collaborate and enjoy discounted services.
